B.Sc. (Non-Medical)
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with twelve laboratory hours a week — no shortcuts.
Botany, Zoology and Chemistry with real fieldwork — and honest support for NEET repeaters.
A large proportion of students who join B.Sc. Medical are also preparing for NEET a second time. We have stopped pretending otherwise. The timetable is arranged so that theory classes finish by early afternoon, and the department openly permits and supports parallel entrance preparation rather than penalising it.
For students who commit to the degree itself, the strength of this programme is fieldwork. The botany herbarium is curated by students under Dr. Verma, and the zoology museum holds specimens collected across four decades. Field trips to the Kalesar forest and the Yamuna floodplain form part of the assessed coursework.
Pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, minimum 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories).
Admission is granted strictly on the merit of the qualifying examination, following the reservation policy of the Government of Haryana. There is no capitation or donation charge of any kind.
Every student contributes identified, mounted specimens; the collection is used by the whole department.
Kalesar forest and Yamuna floodplain surveys, with species identification and report writing carrying credit.
Theory classes finish by early afternoon so that entrance coaching is genuinely possible alongside the degree.
Graduates commonly move into M.Sc., biotechnology, medical laboratory technology and public-health programmes.
The structure below follows the Kurukshetra University syllabus under the NEP 2020 framework. Papers are revised by the university periodically — the department publishes the current detailed syllabus at the start of each session.
