B.Sc. (Computer Science)
Computing with a mathematics spine — for students who want the theory, not just the tools.
Open to every stream, project-driven throughout, and our most placement-active programme.
BCA is the programme students most often ask about, and the one where what you do outside the timetable determines the outcome. The syllabus covers C, Java and Python, data structures, databases, software engineering and web development, and closes with a final-semester live project built for a regional firm or a real civic problem.
The laboratories are open beyond timetabled hours, and the coding club runs weekend problem-solving sessions and the annual 24-hour CodeAgrasen hackathon. Students who use those hours build a portfolio; students who treat the degree as attendance do not. We say this to every incoming batch on the first day.
Pass in 10+2 from any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Mathematics is not compulsory.
Admission is granted strictly on the merit of the qualifying examination, following the reservation policy of the Government of Haryana. There is no capitation or donation charge of any kind.
No Mathematics requirement at 10+2 — Arts and Commerce students form roughly a third of each batch.
A working application built for a regional firm or civic problem, with an external examiner at the viva.
Two computer centres, 110 systems on a 200 Mbps line, available for practice outside the timetable.
IT services, edtech and regional software firms recruit from BCA every year through the placement cell.
The structure below follows the Kurukshetra University syllabus under the NEP 2020 framework. Papers are revised by the university periodically — the department publishes the current detailed syllabus at the start of each session.
