B.A. (Humanities)
The widest subject choice on campus, and the degree that opens the most competitive-examination doors.
Quantitative training inside a humanities degree — the combination most in demand for analyst and policy roles.
Economics honours sits between the arts and the sciences, and that is precisely its advantage. You read about institutions, policy and history like a humanities student, and you handle data, models and statistics like a science student. Employers hiring analysts look for exactly that overlap.
The programme carries a compulsory data-handling component: every student learns spreadsheet modelling in the second year and basic statistical work in R in the third. Our graduates have used that skill to enter banking, market research, government statistical services and postgraduate programmes at Delhi and Panjab University.
Pass in 10+2 with 50% aggregate. Mathematics at 10+2 level is strongly preferred and is required to opt for the econometrics electives.
Admission is granted strictly on the merit of the qualifying examination, following the reservation policy of the Government of Haryana. There is no capitation or donation charge of any kind.
Excel modelling in year two and statistical analysis in R in year three, taught in the computer centre rather than on a blackboard.
Case work on Haryana's agricultural markets, MSP, GST revenue and district-level development indicators.
Mathematical methods and statistics run alongside theory so that econometrics in the final year is approachable.
Banking, market research and financial-services recruiters interview specifically from this cohort.
The structure below follows the Kurukshetra University syllabus under the NEP 2020 framework. Papers are revised by the university periodically — the department publishes the current detailed syllabus at the start of each session.
Where our graduates from this programme actually go — based on alumni records, not projections.
IBPS, RBI Grade B and private-sector analyst roles.
Research associate roles where Excel and basic statistics are the entry requirement.

M.A. Economics at Delhi School of Economics, Panjab University or Kurukshetra University.
Think tanks, state planning departments and development NGOs.
A common parallel track — the CA foundation overlaps heavily with year-one economics.
The widest subject choice on campus, and the degree that opens the most competitive-examination doors.
Four years of close reading, argument and writing — the degree that changes how you think, not just what you know.
For students who already know they want to teach, counsel or work with children.
